So the date is set, and you're planning for your wedding day! Congratulations are definitely in order, and now is time to show off your personal style on the biggest day of your life.
The jury's still out on the hot bridal fashion trends for 2009, but most experts agree that short wedding gowns will be in style, even mini-skirt gowns! If you're not quite that ambitious, a knee-length dress will work just fine.
Another trend to hit the 2009 spring wedding season revolves around a romantic, goddess-like look. A number of top designers have rolled out "goddess gowns" that are long, loose-fitting and flowing. If you're not crazy about the idea of a short gown, this could be the look for you, especially if you're tall and have a slender neck and attractive shoulders.
Look for a lot of flower embroidery in gowns in 2009. Some
top designers have released elegant white Victorian gowns with lots of flower
embroidery in strong contrasting colors such as navy, black, and dark green.
As far as bridal shoes, many styles will be featured in 2009, from elegant satin
couture shoes to bridal flats to wedding flip flops. Dyeable bridal shoes are
also popular, the advantage being that you can dye them to match any color gown.
And you won't have to break the bank, either, with may styles selling for $100
or less.
If you've hired a wedding planner, you might want to consult with him or her to
coordinate your overall design. That way you can choose gowns, shoes, and other
accessories that will have everyone in the wedding party looking and feeling
their best.
